The aim of this page is to give more detailed updates on these two important organizations: the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
This year, 2007, was rather unusual in that two very important meetings on Cetacean conservation took place only a few days apart: the 59th Annual Meeting of the International Whaling Commission took place in Anchorage, Alaska, USA, from 28-31 May, and the 14th meeting of the Parties to CITES, which was held 3-15 June in The Hague, Netherlands.
