In our first newsletter of this year, Miguel Iñiguez referred to the 2010 as a key year for the future of cetaceans, particularly whales. Arriving at this time of the year, I think 2010 has also been a key year for Cethus in many aspects.
From last November 9th to 12th, we conducted a workshop on whale watching in Astillero, Nicaragua, invited by the organization Flora and Fauna International (FFI). It was coordinated by Vanesa Tossenberger for a fishing community and was attended by 32 fishermen from different families...
From October the 24th to 28th, the city of Florianópolis, Brazil, hosted the XIV Workshop on Specialist on Aquatic Mammals from South America (XIV RT) and the 8th Latin American Society of Specialists on Aquatic Mammals (SOLAMAC) Congress. More than 450 people, including undergraduate and graduate students and researches from different Universities, scientific institutions and NGOs from 12 Latinamerican countries, attended this event...
