Last August 14th, Cethus and the International Maritime University of Panama (Universidad Marítima de Panamá, UMIP) signed an agreement of cooperation and understanding that promotes research, training, organization of training activities and scientific – technical information exchange.

The signing was done by Mr. Victor Luna, Rector of the UMIP and Miguel Iñíguez Bessega, President of Cethus. In this regard, Iñíguez said "the signing of this agreement is very important for both institutions as this will allow us to exchange experiences and advance in the knowledge about cetaceans of Panama."
