Miguel A. Iñíguez Bessega
Miguel A. Iñiguez is President and Founder Member of Fundación Cethus. He has worked with cetaceans since 1984 and specializes in dolphins, orcas and Commerson’s dolphins.
He is a naturalist, a graduate of the Escuela de Naturalistas de la Asociación Ornitológica de la Plata, and has a Masters in Environmental Education (Málaga, Spain).
Author of two books: “Orcas de la Patagonia Argentina” (1993) and “Toninas Overas – Delfines del Fin del Mundo” (1996).
He has taught courses and given dissertations at the Asociación Balaena – Universidad Complutense de Madrid,
Spain; the Universidad de Murcia, Spain; the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica; the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires, Argentina; and at the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia Austral, Argentina.
Consultant to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society of England since 1991. Author of numerous publications and scientific articles.
Argentine delegate to the International Whaling Commission since 2002.
Jimena Belgrano
Jimena Belgrano is an advanced student in Biological Sciences from Universidad de Buenos Aires. She has worked at Fundación Cethus since 1996. She has participated on research projects on Commerson’s dolphins and since 2000 she has been responsible for the Southern Right Whale Project developed by Fundación Cethus, having presented results at international congresses, the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and scientific journals. She has represented Fundación Cethus at congresses and national and international workshops related to marine mammals. In 2008, she participated of the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission (IWC). Since 2007, she works as a collaborator of Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society Latin America (WDCS).
Cecilia Gasparrou Cecilia Gasparrou is a graduate in Biological Sciences, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and is a teacher at mid- and advanced levels (Biological Sciences, Universidad de Buenos Aires).
She has worked at Fundación Cethus since 1993, and from 1998 as a teacher in Natural Sciences.
Participated in research on Orcas, Commerson’s dolphins and Burmeister’s porpoise, and has presented research studies and represented Fundación Cethus at congresses and at
provincial, national and international workshops.
Since 2005 she has worked as part of Species Survival Network – Latin America, and is the official representative of Fundación Cethus on WHMSI (Western Hemisphere Migratory Species).
Marta Hevia Marta Hevia is a graduate in Biological Sciences, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires.
She joined Fundación Cethus in 1993, and has worked on Fundación’ research projects on Peale’s dolphin and Commerson’s dolphins, presenting the results at international congresses. Fundación Cethus representative at international forums (CITES – 2003, 2007, IWC – 2004, 2005).
Vanesa Patricia Tossenberger
Vanesa Patricia Tossenberger is a graduate in Biological Sciences, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and a Chemistry Technician. She has worked with marine mammals since 1992, mainly with Orcas and Commerson’s dolphins. She works for Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society as its representative for Latin American. She works for Fundación Cethus since 1993. She has represented Cethus and WDCS at congresses and national and international international workshops related to wildlife conservation and she is the representative of Fundación Cethus on the International Whaling Commission and the Convention on International
Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and SPAW.

Débora Arcucci, is a graduate in Biodiversity, Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias of Univesidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe Capital. She began working at Fundación Cethus in 2003, conducting her bachelor thesis on Commerson’s dolphins. Currently she is a member of the Southern Right Whale Project.
Daniela Marina de Haro, is a student in Biological Sciences from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She is a collaborator of Fundación Cethus since 2006. Currently, she is gaining experience within the Commerson’s dolphins Project and she has participated in field work in Puerto San Julián.
Mauricio Failla, is a graduate in Biological Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. In 1999, he began working at Fundación Cethus conducting his bachelor thesis on Potencial Impact of vessel traffic on the Commerson´s dolphin population of San Julián. At present, he coordinates the Dolphins of Río Negro Project, in Northeastern Patagonia.
María Florencia Kröhling, is a graduate in Biodiversity, from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe Capital. She began working at Fundación Cethus when she carried out her bachelor thesis on Commerson’s dolphins in Puerto San Julián. She is currently a member of the Southern Right Whale Project.
María Vanesa Reyes, is a graduate in Biological Sciences, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires. She works as a volunteer in Fundación Cethus since 2005. She has participated in field work carried out by Fundación Cethus within the Southern Right Whale Project in Cabo Vírgenes and the Commerson’s dolphins Project in Puerto San Julián.
